2 Day, 12 CE hours Introduction to "Traditional" Lomilomi with Kumu Kauhi Hoopii at "West by Northwest School of Massage" Everett, Washington Massage & Bodywork Born and raised in Hawaii and trained by his Tutu (Grandmother) Helen in the traditional Hawaiian ways of Lomilomi: Kumu Kauhi, a practitioner and teacher for almost 40 years, will share his knowledge and culture of "Traditional" Hawaiian Lomilomi. In this "Introduction" to Lomilomi course, Kumu will cover: *Pule(Prayer) the importance of, and the foundation prayer plays in Hawaiian Culture, Lomilomi, and everyday life. *Introduction of Ho'oponopono, and making oneself right in your Pu'uwai (heart), Na'au (Head/Mind), and 'Uhane (Soul) BEFORE working on others *History of Hawaii, the role each individual played in sustaining everyday life in Hawaiian Society, and the important connection Hawaiians had to the 'aina (land) *Influence of Western culture on the Hawaiian Monarchy, language, cultural practices, and the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom. *Body mechanics, draping, and techniques to help practitioners work smarter not harder.
